Sheer Ribbon Roses for the Wedding

A rose is always special, but a handmade rose from sheer ribbon is so much more! Look at our collection of accessories for the wedding. For the bride, groom, and bridal party, and even for the guests – there’s lots to choose from, all using our easy-to-make sheer ribbon roses from our Ribbon Rose Corsage project. Enjoy creating a special head piece, hair clips, corsages, and boutonnières!

This project is specific to a particular brand of sewing machine, notion, fabric and/or supply. However, the project may be easily adapted to other brands.

Hair Clip

Materials

  • 1 yard Wrights® 1" Chantel Ribbon (#222-385-902)
  • 1 pkg. EZ® Binding and Hem Clips (#882127)
  • Miscellaneous small flowers
  • White dried baby's breath
  • Silk rose foliage
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

1. Cut length of ribbon in half.
2. Make 2 roses following instructions for Ribbon Rose Corsage project.
3. Hot glue 2 or 3 silk leaves to the underside of the rose.
4. Hot glue rose to clip.
5. Glue silk lavender flowers and baby's breath around rose for accent.

Headpiece

Materials

  • 1-1/4 yard Wrights® 1" Chantel Ribbon (#222-385-902)
  • 1 headband
  • Miscellaneous small flowers
  • White dried baby's breath
  • Silk rose foliage
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

1. Cut ribbon into three 12" pieces and two 4" pieces.
2. Make 3 roses and 2 rosebuds following instructions for Ribbon Rose Corsage project.
3. Hot glue foliage to headband (refer to photo for placement).
4. Hot glue roses and rose buds to headband.
5. Hot glue lavender flowers and baby's breath for accents.

Corsage

Materials

  • 4 yards Wrights® 1-1/2" Chantel Ribbon (#222-389-714)
  • 1 yard Wrights® 5/8" Wired Luster Satin Ribbon (#222-2233-810)
  • 1 stem silk daisies
  • Silk rose foliage
  • White dried baby's breath
  • 22-gauge florist wire
  • Florist tape
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

1. Cut ribbon length in half for two 2-yard pieces.
2. Make 2 roses following instructions for Ribbon Rose Corsage project.
3. Attach wire to underside of rose and wrap wire with floral tape to create stems.
4. Arrange the roses using photo as your guide, and hold in place with floral tape.
5. Hot glue foliage, white daisies, and babies breath to ribbon roses.
6. Tie a bow with Luster ribbon and attach to underside of ribbon rose (see project photo).

Boutonnière

Materials

  • 1 yard Wrights® 1-1/2" Chantel Ribbon (#222-389-714)
  • 1 stem silk daisies
  • Silk rose foliage
  • White dried baby's breath
  • 22-gauge florist wire
  • Florist tape
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

1. Make 1 rose following instructions for Ribbon Rose Corsage project.
2. Attach wire to underside of rose and wrap with floral tape to create stem.
3. Hot glue foliage, white daisies, and babies breath to ribbon rose.
